How AI and Robotics used in nursing?

Nurses deal with a lot of clinical data, electronic medical records, integrated medical equipment, and support systems. AI startups are collaborating with nursing practises to effectively develop predictive analytics and integrate algorithms into patient care processes. Visual recognition, voice assistance, machine learning, and virtual reality are all AI technologies that provide various nursing opportunities. Monitoring breathing patterns, detecting nonverbal cues of depression and anxiety in mental health patients, retrieving information from a massive pile of digital data, reminders for upcoming appointments, reminders for timely medications, predicting treatment costs for patients based on symptoms, risk prediction in cases of sepsis, relapse, geriatric patients, patients with medical complications, and so on are all part of this. Virtual reality images and experiences are useful in patient education and motivation, as well as e-learning exercises for nursing students.

Robots can help nurses with many day-to-day tasks such as patient evaluation, vitals recording, collecting body fluid samples, dispensing prescription medications, and so on. Telepresence robots can also be remotely controlled to communicate with patients. Da Vinci is a surgical robot that the surgeon can remotely control to perform the surgical procedure. The Xenex robot is used in infection control to disinfect operating rooms and areas where high infection spread is possible, such as the COVID pandemic.
